Tebow Called Up To Help Mets Pray For Season To Be Over

The Mets never expected to call up Tim Tebow this year. But considering how they’ve been playing, the front office decided the team could really use his help with praying for the season to be over.

“Mets fans need something to get excited about,” said GM Sandy Alderson. “We all want to see Tebow on the field, but more importantly, we all want it to magically be March of next year.”

Tebow will technically be a part of the 40-man roster, but he’ll mostly stay in the locker room and dugout to focus on fast-forwarding time through prayer.

“We don’t want to put too much pressure on the kid, but we believe he has certain skills that could really help this team,” said Mets manager Terry Collins. “Specifically, using god to jump into the future. He can do that, right?”

“I want to keep my expectations in check,” added Alderson. “But my hope is we pray really hard after a bad loss to the Pirates or something, go to sleep, and then when we wake up, it’s opening day and all our pitchers are healthy. I’m pretty sure that’s how it would work.”
